Chika Higashi is a painter and former founder of Coci la elle, a boutique umbrella brand known for its hand-painted designs. Since wrapping up the brand last summer to focus solely on her artistic practice, she has been living and painting in the Yatsugatake Mountains, about 1180m above sea level.
Higashi’s bold and colourful works create notebook covers that have a completely different look depending on the placement.
